It’s unlikely that we’ll get a glimpse of the Chinese president himself but anyone on the roads this weekend is almost certainly going to see the effects of his visit as police and security teams’ plans will inevitably involve delays and road closures. Although information about the plans is somewhat restricted for security reasons, confirmed details released so far show the President arriving tomorrow and leaving on Sunday, and staying at the Abama Hotel near Playa San Juan. Traffic disruption is therefore expected on the TF1 between TFS and Guía de Isora from 7.30pm tomorrow, Friday, and then the southern access roads to the Teide National Park will be closed between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday (northern access routes are apparently unaffeced) as the President is taken on a tour. Then finally on Sunday the TF1 between Guía de Isora and TFS could be affected by delays from 6pm.
