Updated 29 August: This weekend has a couple of fiestas in south Tenerife and a couple of very popular cultural events in north Tenerife. For tomorrow until Sunday, there is the Bavarian week and Oktoberfest in Puerto de la Cruz and the Pinolere ethnographic village arts and crafts fair – a chance not only to see some lovely characteristically Canarian artisan works but also to get a taste of a real Guanche village and how life was lived in it. In the south, on Sunday itself, there are two very popular sea-focused fiestas, with Los Abrigos’ fiestas patronales de San Blas – Romería Barquera and the Embarkation of Los Cristianos’ Virgen del Carmen fiesta in the harbour with fireworks afterwards. However you spend the weekend, have a lovely time.
