Updated 5 April: A varied weekend is in store with the El Arca de Noé homeless charity fundraiser in Los Cristianos tomorrow and the IX Feria del Queso de Canarias in Pinolere ethnographic museum village tomorrow and Sunday. Also on Sunday, runners and spectactors will fill the roads for the Las Galletas Half Marathon and the magical and devilish Las Burras de Güímar will take place, postponed from last Friday because of weather conditions. Whatever you’re doing this weekend, I hope you have a lovely time.

Updated 28 March: It’s a big weekend this, and no longer because of Brexit! That might have been postponed but there is a lot still going on in Tenerife over the next few days! Today starts the new three-day Magic of Science and Technology fair in Playa la Arena, and tomorrow Friday Chio hosts new Boleros al Vino wine event and there’s the marvellous Sensaciones ‘Más que Mar’ in Los Abrigos. Also tomorrow, something very strange, mystical and devilish is going on with Las Burras de Güímar. On Saturday there’s the ever-popular Noche de tapas y vino in Playa San Juan, and over both Saturday and Sunday runners and spectators will be taking part in the Trail Fuente Alta Vilaflor. Finally, on a sporty Sunday, boxers take part in bouts including the National bantamweight title fight in Santa Cruz, and the El Médano Triathlon will see hundreds swimming, cycling and running in the annual challenge that’s exhausting to watch, but hundreds more will still be lining the routes! However you spend the weekend, I hope you have a marvellous time … and that you remember to put the clocks forward an hour on Saturday night!
