The Tenerife Walking Festival is now in its fifth year, and will be held throughout Tenerife between 21 and 25 May 2019. The event is now considered to be one of the most notable hiking events in Europe, fuelling the promotion of Tenerife generally, not just as a perfect walking environment but also as a rich and diverse holiday destination that is about much more than beaches

The festival offers routes in some of Tenerife’s most spectacular scenery like the Teno and Anaga Rural Parks, and the Teide National Park, and in addition to the walking itself, there will again be a great number of associated activities and events to which participants (and locals in some cases) can take part, including stargazing, gastronomy, and entertainment. The official website for those who would like to take part is HERE, and there’s a Facebook page HERE, though registration is not yet open.

The Tenerife Walking Festival is organized by the Tenerife Cabildo through Turismo de Tenerife, with collaboration from ERA (Asociación Europea de Senderismo), Fedme (Federación Española de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada) Fecamon (Federación Canaria de Montañismo), the Ayuntamiento de Puerto de la Cruz, and the Fundación Santa Cruz Sostenible.
