Updated 18 February: Tragically, it has been confirmed today that this teenager has died. He was transferred in critical condition to Candelaria Hospital but sadly it has now been announced that he succumbed to the severe injuries he sustained in yesterday’s fall. 

Original post 17 February:  A 13-year-old boy is in hospital this afternoon after falling several metres from an electricity pylon in the Guargacho area. Emergency services say that they were called out just before half past two with reports that he had fallen after getting a shock from the cables and was unconscious, and ambulance crew found him in cardiac arrest and with severe head injuries. After successfully resuscitating and then stabilizing the teenager at the scene, they transferred him to Candelaria Hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
