What is happening to doorknobs in La Laguna? As Canarian TV reported this morning, police are looking into the theft of up to 40 in the area of El Coromoto, a suburb of Tenerife’s former capital, now a Unesco World Heritage Site. Some think they’re being stolen because they were metal, a material that can be sold on the black market. Could thieves have run out of the copper wiring that was the fashion to steal a few years back? Or is there perhaps another reason? Police have open minds while the residents have very closed doors!
