Updated 27 July: Police say that they have detained the driver of the vehicle that knocked down the minor in Añaza on Wednesday. They thank the public for their assistance which was integral to the arrest which was in the south-west of the capital. Police add that they have additionally arrested another driver who was involved in a separate hit-and-run incident on Thursday in the San Andrés area which left a woman in a serious condition.

Original post 25 July: Santa Cruz Policia Local are asking for the public’s assistance to trace the driver of a hit and run accident in which a child was injured yesterday. The incident occurred in C/ Acorán in the Añaza (Carrefour) area, with the car said to be a silver-grey Seat with damage on the right-hand side of the front – particularly the windscreen, bumper and lights. The driver is said to be around 30 years old, male, and bearded. Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with the Santa Cruz Policía Local on 092 (within the borough) or 922 606 092.
