Adeje’s Security Department has confirmed that the municipal Policía Local have assisted the Guardia Civil in the arrest of a man for stabbing another man in the ribs as he attempted to prevent a robbery in an amusement arcade around 1am on Saturday night near the Hard Rock Hotel in Playa Paraiso. A further pair are still being sought in connection with the raid but police managed to follow the trail of blood left by the attacker himself as he fled through one of the two tower blocks opposite the hotel.

The three had entered the premises and demanded money with menaces from the woman who was on duty, but ended up fleeing empty handed – other than the wound in the hand the detainee had sustained from his own knife.  The police chase was said to be “mad”, and involved jumping over various balconies and even fleeing right through one woman’s apartment in the complex.

The detainee was given stitches in El Mojón for the wound to his hand, and police say that he is well known to them, with multiple similar crimes from childhood: he is now, again, being processed by the judicial authorities. His victim was taken to Hospital Quirón Costa Adeje where his condition is said to be comfortable after the surgery he required for his injuries.
