A man was killed and six others were injured in a horrific head-on collision on the TF13 between Tejina and La Laguna around a quarter to eight last evening. Emergency services say that they were called out with reports that the two cars had crashed and that some occupants were trapped inside the wreckage of one of them. Several bomberos units were dispatched along with ambulance crew, but sadly all could only confirm the death at the scene of one of the victims whose injuries were too severe for them to assist him.

The others injured were a 62-year-old man and woman with leg and hip injuries respectively, a couple of 20-year-old men with leg and hip injuries, and two men with stomach, leg and head injuries: the six were transferred as appropriate to the Hospital San Juan de Dios, HUC, and Candelaria Hospital where their conditions are said not to be serious.
