A 56-year-old German lorry driver died in La Orotava early this morning when he was trapped between his lorry and the wall into which it rolled when its brakes failed. Emergency services say that they were called out just before 7am with reports of the incident in Calle Miguel de Cervantes, and that since the wall had been reinforced, bomberos had to break through it to release the man. Ambulance crew found that he was in cardiac arrest but sadly their efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and he was declared dead at the scene.
