A terrible traffic accident on the TF47 between Alcalá and Playa la Arena shortly after 3pm this afternoon has resulted in two injured, one very seriously. Emergency services say they were called out at 3.20pm with reports of the accident in which a vehicle overturned, its driver losing an arm: the 37-year-old man was stabilized at the scene and then flown to Candelaria Hospital where his condition is said to be very serious. A 40-year-old woman who also received back injuries in the accident was transferred to Hospiten Sur where her condition is said to be comfortable. The incident was a major one, and involved three ambulances, medics from the Alcalá Health Centre, a GES helicopter, and bomberos from Guía de Isora, San Miguel and Santa Cruz fire stations.
