The 2018 World Cheese Awards held last week in Norway saw a record-breaking 3,500 cheeses from all around the world being judged on Friday 2 November by an international panel of 230 experts from 29 countries, and once again Canarian cheese performed superbly, winning 2 Super Golds, 7 Golds, 11 Silver, and 15 Bronze medals. The World Cheese Awards are organized by the Guild of Fine Food committee, and among the Canaries’ 35 medals were gold for Adeje’s Montesdeoca dairy for its wine-cured goat cheese, and a bronze for Flor de Güímar for matured goat cheese with gofio rind.
