Puerto de la Cruz will be home to Mueca 2019, its annual international art festival, between 25 and 29 September, dates that will see the festival move from its traditional May slot. The “festival of happiness” fills the town’s streets with art, music, dance, even a fire and water spectacular in the Lago Martiánez. There is a dedicated website HERE, and organizers say that although some specific events are ticketed, Mueca is primarily a free open air art festival which sees Puerto de la Cruz – the streets, harbour, promenades, squares – full of performances and interactive shows … it’s a good time to be in the town! Organizers say that they decided on the shift from May to September because of the multiple elections that are being held around the original calendar placing.
