Updated 31 January: Adeje Ayuntamiento says that the works to Playa del Duque are now complete, and so the beach is reopened as from today.

Original post 23 January: Adeje Ayuntamiento has announced the full closure of playa del Duque including people just walking on the beach for what it describes as “urgent demolition works”. There will be signs around the works, and the council apologises for any inconvenience caused. I’ll post any explanation or further detail if it becomes available but for the moment this is all the information there is.
